Lessons from Super Mario Galaxy

Bubbles and minefields do not play well together.

In fact, I think you could craft a variation on the Chicken, Fox, and Grain puzzle with these two things, plus a kitten.

You have a bubble, a kitten, and a minefield. You need to transport all three of them across the river…

Wait, that doesn’t work, because you can’t trust ANY of these things alone together. Maybe add a bag of kibble for the minefield to play with.

Bubble plus mine field should be OK. If the mines can be set off with a bubble, they would likely go off when you cross the river anyway.

Clearly you haven't played Super Mario Galaxy. :)

By the way, this made me think of you:

Simon's Cat TV Dinner

I love all the Simon's Cats, but that one came out when I was away. Thanks for reminding me.

Somehow, that made me think of "rock paper scissors"...

Kitten pops bubble.
Bubble disables mine.
Mine blows up kitten.

I'm not sure about the hand signals. Clearly, this needs work.

Well, mines pop bubble.

These aren't technically minefields, I guess--they are spiky balls that pop the giant bubble. Which unfortunately sends Mario tumbling into poison deathswamp.

See? That's why I don't play video games. They're not congruent with reality.

Or, um, something.

You would think that adding poison to a deathswamp would be unnecessary.

But you have to make sure. Like sealing a peanut butter sandwich with extra honey. IT MUST STICK.

...and then the minefield said to the kitten, "No soap - radio!"

Wears the minefield, doesn't it.

And yet, how many pancakes does it take to shingle the roof of a doghouse?
